Join us for a short story reading with our friends at the McCracken County Public Library.
All are welcome to join us for the next meeting of Shorts and Stouts, which will focus on a pair of stories by Ernest Hemingway: “The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber” and “A Clean, Well-Lighted Place.”
Hemingway has separately cited each of these stories as being his personal favorite, so it’s only fitting that we read both and compare. The two stories are contained within the collection The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Other Stories or in Hemingway’s Collected Stories, both of which are available to checkout at the library. So, have fun reading, then join us at Dry Ground Brewing Company on July 17 at 7pm for a beer (if you choose), a snack (if you bring it), and brilliant discussion of a pair of brilliant stories.
Shorts and Stouts is a short story discussion group sponsored by the McCracken County Public Library and held at Dry Ground Brewery. The discussion group will be led by Matt Jaeger, library clerk and writer. All programs are free and open to the public.
Matt Jaeger is an author of fiction and a library clerk at the McCracken County Public Library. He is the author of three collections of short stories: The Caretakers,The Captives, and All Have the Same Blindness, and is currently at work on a couple novels.
